During approximately 48 hours of intense collaboration, the 36 selected individuals created incredible games with the support of game mentors and birds.

Organized by Avistar Brasil with the support of SAVE Brasil and Goethe-Institut São Paulo, the Bird Game Jam 2024 was the first video game development marathon about Brazilian birds and represents a unique opportunity for participants to learn about Brazil's rich birdlife, creating authentic games that highlight the beauty, behavior, and ecological importance of our birds.
THE SONG OF THE DOVE
Rafa's grandfather asked for his grandmother Célia's hand in marriage to the sound of the Planalto Dove's song. Since then, Rafa's grandparents have believed that this bird has brought good luck and prosperity to their marriage. The grandfather wrote a special poem for Célia about this moment, which he always recited when his grandson visited him in Botumirim.
Now, Rafa also seeks that same luck by proposing to his love. Therefore, he needs to remember his grandfather's poem, which will help him find the Plateau Dove.
Although she hasn't been seen for 75 years and many consider her extinct, Rafa is determined to find her!
TOCO TOUCAN
Inspired by the theme "Brazilian birds," we decided to use one of Brazil's most recognizable symbols: the toucan. More specifically, the toco toucan (Ramphastus toco), a bird that, in addition to eating fruit, attacks the nests of other birds in search of eggs and chicks, causing it to be attacked by their parents.
Based on the logic of an endless runner, the toucan flies through the forest in search of fruits and eggs to avoid starving, dodging the treetops and avoiding its rival, the yellow-headed woodpecker.

Catch the Pigeon is a game that takes us back to childhood. Anyone who ever collected Top Trumps will love it!
